SSL/TLS Wizard
outline
SSL/TLS Wizard interface allows you to easily purchase and install SSL certificates for the domains in your account. It also lists purchased certificates that have not yet been delivered by your SSL certificate provider.
Note :
For the SSL/TLS wizard to appear in your cPanel account, your hosting provider must use WHM's Market Provider Manager interface ( WHM > > Home > > Market > > Market You must enable your cPanel Store provider in Provider Manager ).
Important :
- The cPanelID is required for the SSL certificate provided by cPanel through the cPanel Store. cPanelID is your username and password combination for the cPanel Store, cPanel Tickets system, and Manage2 billing system. For more information about CPanelID, read the cPanelID document.
- You can only purchase certificates for domains assigned as IP addresses to your server.
Verification process
The validation process for Organization Validated (OV) certificates and Extended Validation (EV) certificates requires 3 to 30 days. The certificate issuer needs this time to verify information about your business. EV certificates take longer to issue than OV certificates due to their more stringent requirements. To expedite the verification process, click the associated information message for each certificate, if the message exists.
Important :
Sectigo will send you an email with additional verification instructions. Complete these instructions as quickly as possible to avoid delays.
cPanel, LLC will issue your domain-validated certificate (DV) immediately, but the verification process may take up to 24 hours before the certificate can be installed.
Purchase a certificate from the main interface
The main interface consolidates all domains in your account into a single list. It then automatically determines the number and arrangement of certificates needed to secure the selected domain.
Note :
You must purchase a wildcard certificate using the default interface.
To purchase a certificate for your account's domain using the default interface, follow these steps:
Check the box next to each domain you want to protect with a certificate.
- Lines with domains that begin with the asterisk character (*) indicate wildcard certificates. When you select a wildcard certificate, the interface automatically selects all domains protected by the wildcard certificate.
- The interface displays a lock icon and the message An SSL certificate currently secures this domain for each domain that the certificate already secures.
- You cannot purchase a certificate for a domain using the interface if a certificate is pending for that domain. You can click View (View) to view information about the pending certificate.
The server will attempt a Domain Control Validation (DCV) check for each selected domain.
- Gray domains have not yet passed DCV verification.
- Green domains passed DCV verification.
- Red domain failed DCV verification.
- Certificates purchased through the cPanel Store are valid for domains that pass DCV authentication at no additional cost. Automatically includes each subdomain.
If the list includes a domain with an IP address that is not assigned to your server, you will not be able to purchase a domain for your website using the interface.
- To remove a domain from the website list, uncheck the appropriate checkbox.
- To remove all unverified domains from the website list, click Remove all domains that did not validate .
- To add the domain back to the website list, select the appropriate checkbox.
