Addon Domains

Addon domains allow you to control multiple domains from a single account. Add-on domains link your new domain name to a directory in your account and then save the file to that directory.
Important :
- The hosting provider uses Modify an Account interface. ( WHM > > Home > > Account Features > > Account Edit ) must specify the maximum number of add-on domains (0 or more) that can be created. If you specify a value of 0, no add-on domain is created.
- The add-on domain name must be registered before visitors can access it.
- If registered domain's DNS zone records are incorrect, you may see the following error: “subdomain.example.com” name of The server IP address cannot be determined . The domain is a valid domain registered with an organization Make sure that is . You can't even add domains. cPanel's Zone Editor interface ( cPanel > > Home > > Domain > > Zone Editor Use (Zone Editor ) to correct your DNS zone records or contact your hosting provider to ensure that your DNS zone records are correct.
Creating an add-on domain
To create an add-on domain, follow these steps:
1. Enter the name of the new add-on domain in the New Domain Name (New Domain Name) text box. When you enter a domain name, cPanel will create children domains and documents root ( Subdomain and Document Root) Automatically fills in the text boxes.
Important : If you enter a domain similar to an existing domain in your account, the system will recommend that you create a subdomain for that domain.
- This allows the name server to properly maintain entries in the domain's zone file.
- To create a subdomain, link interface ( cPanel > > Home > > Domain > > Children domain ) is used.
1. To create multiple add-on domains with the same username and different extensions (for example, example.com and example.net), enter the sub unique text box. Enter a username manually.
2. select a document root directory other than the automatically populated value, manually enter the directory name in the Document Root text box do.
Note :
- The house icon () represents the home directory of your cPanel account.
- For example, if you enter example1.com in text box and your cPanel account uses a home directory of /home/example, the add-on domain is /home/ It exists in the example/example1.com directory.
- The following directories cannot be used as document root directories:
- The account's home directory itself (/)
- Directories outside the account's home directory (./ and ../)
- .cpanel
- .trash
- etc
- ssl
- tmp
- logs
- .cphorde
- .spamassassin
- .htpasswds
- var
- cgi-bin
- .ssh
- perl5
2. To create an FTP account for a new add-on domain, open the FTP account associated with this add-on domain Select the Account Create ( Create an FTP account associated with this Addon Domain) checkbox. When you check this box, additional settings will appear.
- cPanel automatically populates the FTP User Name (Username) text box. To select a different FTP account username, manually enter the desired username.
- Enter the new password in the appropriate text box and confirm.
Note :
- The system evaluates the password you enter on a 100-point scale. 0 indicates a weak password, while 100 indicates a very secure password.
- Some hosting providers require a minimum password strength. A green password strength meter indicates that your password is stronger than required.

1. Click Domain Add ( Add Domain) .
SSL certificate
When you create an add-on domain, parked domain, subdomain, or main domain, the system automatically attempts to secure that domain with the best existing certificate available.
- If a certificate does not exist, the system creates a self-signed certificate to secure a new domain.
- Once AutoSSL is enabled for the account that owns the new domain, The system adds a request for an AutoSSL certificate to secure the new domain and installs it when it becomes available.
Create a subdomain
When you create an add-on domain in the cPanel interface, the system will automatically create subdomains. If you want to change or delete a subdomain after you create it, you can change or delete the information that appears on the add-on domain's website. The system stores and displays traffic statistics for add-on domains as part of the traffic statistics for subdomains.

Search for add-on domains
To retrieve the list of add-on domains, follow these steps:
1. Enter search criteria in the box.
2. Click Go ( Go) .
The interface lists results matching your search criteria.
Modifying the document root directory for an add-on domain
To modify the document root directory for an add-on domain, follow these steps:
1. In the Document Root (Document Root) column, click the edit icon () for the add-on domain you want to manage.
2. Enter the path to the new document root directory of your add-on domain in the available text box.
Note : The following directories be used as root directories
- The account's home directory itself (/).
- Directories outside the account's home directory (./ and ../)
- .cpanel
- .trash
- etc
- ssl
- tmp
- logs
- .cphorde
- .spamassassin
- .htpasswds
- var
- cgi-bin
- .ssh
- perl5
2. Click Change (Change) .
Enable or disable add-on domain redirection
To disable or enable redirection for an add-on domain, follow these steps:
1. Redirection for the add-on you to manage.
2. To redirect a domain, enter the link to redirect the add-on domain to.
3. Click Save ( Save ) or, to disable redirection, Redirection Disable ( Disable Redirection ).
Removing add-on domains
To remove an add-on domain, follow these steps:
1. Click for the add on domain you want to remove.
2. Click Yes ( Yes) .
